strong dynamics, very good!

I like what it. There's constantly happening something. Your percussion is strong. The violins are telling a story and the dynamics make it very attractive. Also the voice part and above all the ending are well done.
Congrats with your work!

cadence1 responds:

Thank you for your review. I appreciate it. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed this tune.

Dark & Heavy! Nice

I'm not just giving you a 10 because you gave it to me. You have to earn it.. and you certainly do. You don't hit the regular notes of a major chord, and in this case you make it very dark. The heavy cello helps offcourse. You could ask the boys of 'Apocalyptica' to do their version of it. ;)

shadow6nothing9 responds:

Hey thats a good idea. I should listen to them more often and maybe do something in there vain :P

Oh and I got the chords from listening closely to Weegee's Mansion lol Lots of odd sounding music there.

almost a requiem

This composition is very heavy. It reaches a nice complex level without being total random.
I feel the dynamics or the attempt to do so. I also use FL's and what I hate about it is that you only can use 4/4. Also actual notes to make scores would be welcome to. But that's why FL is more for the hobbyist. :)
If you've got money left (only 1000$ lol) you can buy the complete library of EWSQ or the vienna library. Or you can download them from somewhere... ;) Both those libraries are very good.

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

You can mess around with tempo in FL, I've made things in 3/4 and other Time Sigs, under Options>Project General Settings. Though you aren't going to make something complex, like in, say, 11/8.

I too would love actual score-making possibilities, but right now, I gots this and this is all I's got.

Thanks for the review.

Respect.. This song has all it has to have.

Wow! This is professional stuff. The movement is insane good. You thought it completely through. It has a Howard versus Gregson-Williams feeling. I want to here more from you. Again, respect! You can be proud of this.

Setu-Firestorm responds:

Thanks. Actually, it goes with a scene of the movie, so crafting the music around things happening on screen in much more challenging (though far more fun) to do. I've heard some people say that they can just about visualize the scene playing out just from hearing the music, which tells me I did a good job. =)

peaceful

The movement is indeed like a journey. It's calm and let you think about things. And without those surprising secundo's it's a nice song. ;) I also made an improvisation (2days ago), when I first discovered how to record it. And I must say, it is amazingly amusing for myself. I bet you love it too. Keep on improvising.

roensb responds:

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by surprising secundos (maybe because of my limited high school knowledge of music), maybe some clarification? Just PM me if you feel like it about that

Pirates scene.. lol I see what you want to do.

It's good. Good sounds and feelings. But sometimes it's a bit empty. At the start of the song, I thought that the lion king scene was starting. So I had really high expectations, since it's one of the best moviescores ever written. But with the violins going up there was missing stuff to build up the tension. And maybe for the cello at the ending you can at some (soft) vibes. (under orchestral percussion in EWQL Symphonic Orchestra) ;)

The Rock?

Have you recently listened to 'the rock' ost or 'black hawk down' ost? lol
Anyway I like the song. I can almost repeat the drumline with my tong. :)
What do you use for the guitar? slayer 2?

Bosa responds:

Actually, I watched Iron Man - huk, huk!
No, I don't use Slayer 2 or any kind of generic guitar samples.

Good ood od d :D

Indead, the reverb button is put open :). But lukely the strong reverb is used for an ambient song and not something else.
This could easily be used in a gamemenu.

Nice work.

LoL

That's something for the national lottery or the blank tv screen. LoL

Great!

It's a pitty that it's in low quality.. I could recommend you the Eastwest Libraries or the Edirol Orchestra VST plugin.. (e.a. listen to '...to where i came from' ;).
Anyway, the song is really super. I give you a 5/5 and 9/10

Malthiest responds:

Thanks I'll try that, I'm using finale allegro 2007 right now, do you know if they're compatible?
